P129 Acoma Judy Lewis oval seedpot. 3/4" x 3"

$180.00

Native American Acoma Pueblo seedpot by Judy Lewis, lozenge shape, butterfly and bird images, within intricate fine line design. The artist signed the pot.

A seed pot like this one is designed so the small opening discourages rodents from getting at the seeds. It also allows small quantities of seeds to be planted by shaking the pot. Judy Lewis is a top-tier Acoma pottery artist.

Judy Lewis was born into Acoma Pueblo in 1966. There are two Lewis families at Acoma. Judy is a member of the one descended from Katherine Lewis, including Marilyn Ray, Rebecca Lucario, Sharon Lewis, Carolyn Concho, and Diane Lewis in addition to Judy Lewis. Judy is associated with corn maidens, storytellers, and seedpots. She features happy accents by adding lovable critters.
