This Australian Aboriginal art basket, hand-woven of pandanus fiber by an indigenous Northern Territory artisan, is a loose weave to allow water or air to pass through the basket and around its contents.

Baskets have long been the most important forms for storing and carrying food and possessions among the essentially nomadic Australian Aborigines of the Central Desert.

14" in diameter x 11" from the base to the basket rim, 23" to the top of handle.

It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance as to its Australian Aboriginal origin.
