Native American Zuni Pueblo Noreen Simplicion seed pot, two turtles in deep relief atop with brown and orange designs, deer and butterflies around.

Noreen Simplicio was born into the Zuni Pueblo badger clan ca. 1965. She began serious pottery work in high school, where she received from Jannie Laate, an experienced Pueblo potter from Acoma Pueblo.

Acoma continued to be an influence in her creative development when she studied under Angelina Medina, an almost legendary Acoma potter.

Noreen has been quoted as saying, “My unique pottery forms are characterized by distinctive designs that combine traditional Zuni pottery symbols with contemporary design elements of my own creation.”

Noreen has won numerous awards and ribbons since her first win in 1988.
